Conference Connections: ULG to attend LocWorld41 Silicon Valley

Posted by Deborah Contreras

Localization is one the biggest ways we help support our global clients at ULG. By attending industry events and knowledge-shares, we are able to stay at the forefront of emerging technology and trends that, when paired with our language expertise, help globalizing businesses win in the marketplace. From November 6-8, a team from ULG is descending upon California for LocWorld41 Silicon Valley to connect with other global leaders during sessions about innovation, collaboration and globalization excellence.

To learn more about the conference this year, we sat down with one of the team members that will be representing ULG and asked a couple questions. Kristin Gutierrez is a Senior Global Strategic Account Manager. In her role, she helps customers increase international revenue and improve the customer experience through globalized products.

  1. What are you most looking forward to at the LocWorld 41 conference?

LocWorld energizes me! I love connecting with peers across the industry and hearing from experts on best practices and sharing ideas.

This year I had the opportunity to help build a successful conference by participating on the Advisory Committee for the entire LocWorld41 conference. I am most looking forward to seeing the presentations come to life and hope they resonate with the audience.

Not only that, but this year I am honored to be interviewing Anna Schlegel, Vice President Global Portfolio-to-Market Lifecycle at NetApp. Our session, How to Tie Globalization Strategy into Enterprise-wide Corporate Governance is scheduled for Thursday, November 7 at 1:30pm.

  1. Who are you looking forward to connecting with at the event?

As a Program Director Chapters of the Chapters & Global Growth Program for Women in Localization, I can’t wait to see the women I collaborate with weekly in our industry. (Many of whom I’ve collaborated with going on 2+ years but have never met in person!)  This is such an exciting time for W.L. as we now represent our mission across 22 Chapters globally.  My role for Women in Localization means my team interacts with our Chapters to ensure they have the tools and processes needed to be successful.

Not only that, but having spent the past 15 years working in our industry, it’s always a blast seeing old colleagues. It truly is a blessing to call so many industry peers, friends.
