Welcome back to another edition of Meet the Team featuring Kimmie Miranda, Director of Over the Phone Interpretation.

Q: What is your favorite or most interesting hobby?
A: I am a history buff--- I am obsessed with 17th and 18th century history and artifacts. I love learning about how people evolve but places stand still. Visiting historical sites is something that I could spend my life doing. Maybe I need my own reality TV show - "Kimmie Explores the World".
Q: How long have you been with ULG?
A: I have been with ULG for nearly 2 years, and I have worked in the same position in Operations during my time here.
Q: What is your favorite part of your job? Why?
A: My favorite part about my job is that it's a challenge, and I love fixing things. I am a seeker, so when there is an issue, I am all over it. I am a logical thinker coupled with problem solving skills. Mediocre is never ok with me---to be the dream team takes courage, pride, and excellence. It is ok to make mistakes, but it is never ok to say you are perfect. To be a leader of people, oneself must come out of the equation - it is what is best for us, not you.
Q: Why did you decide to work in the translation industry
A: Previously, I worked heavily with Language Services, and I had originally built a small language team of Spanish representatives. We would internally route our calls to a special language group. That experience prepared me for this world. When I found ULG, it was perfect timing in my life to try something different but familiar. It all just fits like a glove. What is interesting to me about ULG is the ability to do so many different things under one roof. Truly a one stop shop for Language Services. There is always something to figure out or be creative about. I get excited with new ideas, building out new expansions and products, and truly centralizing communication through mass centers. This industry is needed by so many people and to be a part of a solution is what makes me happy.
